I enjoyed this film on NYE – I am not a “minimalist” but the concepts resonate with me.  We are culturally conditioned to acquire more and more “stuff” and to define ourselves by what we have, not what we do.  IMHO, it is a question of balance.  Know thyself – when you are going into “retail therapy”, just walk away and think about your motivations.  There may be another path to the good feelings that you seek!

Some seniors can be too trusting – in today’s world, that can be a problem! I had to be the “bad guy” with a past client to get her to stop donating to a number of fake charities.  She was a generous and caring woman, but she was being taken advantage of by direct mail solicitation and telemarketers.
